We are very proud to announce that Instructor Anna Fishwick, AMERICA Division’s League Cadet Company Officer, was selected as the 2010 Judge Robert T.S. Colby Award Winner and Sea Cadet Instructor of the Year for the entire nation. She was nominated by LT Jeffrey G. Anderson, Commanding Officer, as the unit’s Instructor of the Year. She went on to compete at the Regional and Field Levels, and ultimately at the National Level. She was awarded the Distinguished Service Ribbon at the Annual Sea Cadet Awards Ball held on February 26th. She will be formally honored at a ceremony in Washington DC later this spring.
INST Fishwick has been a member of AMERICA Division for over two years. INST Fishwick’s role in AMERICA Division is that of League Cadet Company Officer. She is responsible for the training, conduct and overall performance of a dozen 10-13 year old cadets. She creates the curriculum, provides instruction and plans trips and other fun activities.
INST Fishwick teaches 5th grade as well as Elementary Art classes at Piedmont Christian School in Bumpass, and lives in Montpelier with her husband Paul and daughters PO2 Molly Fishwick, and Mary.
